"Bauernherbst" Harvest Festival 2012

The golden autumn with its mild climate and colourful landscape is a true paradise for every hiker and mountain climber. And as you know, sport in our splendid world of mountains is the essence of possessing a true fountain of youth.
In the new National Park Centre and in the Felberturm museum you can discover the Hohe Tauern National Park and watch alpine animals, minerals, and the fauna from close to.
Once the days become shorter and the early morning dew lies on the autumn meadows, it is then the time for the farmers to bring back their garlanded cows and sheep after a lovely alpine summer spent grazing on the high pastures to their farms. This traditional event is called "Almabtrieb".
