Grossglockner High Alpine Road

The Grossglockner mountain is the tallest mountain in Austria. It is 3,798m. Not only is it the highest mountain in Austria, it also counts as having one of the highest peaks in the Alps.

Since the building of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road in 1935, fifty million visitors have been impressed by this incomparable experience. The most famous of all alpine roads ends before the highlight of the Hohe Tauern National Park: the highest mountain and the largest glacier in Austria, the Grossglockner and the Pasterze.
